General Information

Approximately 30km south west off the centre of Sydney sits the suburb of Warwick Farm. The expanse was previously inhabited by Irish prisoners after the Irish Rebellion. The superintendent of a Liverpool school named his property Warwick and it was later used for the name of the suburb.

Warwick Farm had a recorded population of about 4500 people. The median age recorded was 35 years, which is slightly lower than NSW’s average. Locals make the bulk of the residents with the rest coming from places around Asia and from England. The majority of the residents are employed in the trades with the lesser working in the professional fields and in administration.

Warwick Farm is on three different lines on the Sydney Trains network, providing easy access to many suburbs in the Sydney metro area. Bus services are also available to nearby suburbs Liverpool and Fairfield. The Hume Highway is the major road that passes through the suburb which gives residents direct and easy access to a major freeway.

Commercial area

Warwick Farm is a mixture of residential, commercial and industrial areas. Megacenta is located on Orange Grove Road and features many well-known retail stores in various industries including furniture and home improvement. A Westfield shopping complex is located in the adjacent suburb of Liverpool.

The vast majority of housing in Warwick Farm are units and apartments, accounting for around two-thirds of dwellings, while the remainder consists of houses and semi-detached.
