General Information

Stanhope Gardens is in the greater western region of Sydney, located approximately 39 kilometres of the CBD.
In the 19th century, settler John Hillas named a block of land granted to him ‘Stanhope Farm’, after which it was sold to Jack Peel, where it was called Stanhope Park Dairy. Stanhope Gardens originated from the names of these previous establishments.

Demographics

In the census conducted in 2011, Stanhope Gardens had a population of about 7,671. Many younger people reside in the suburb, with a median age of 32 years.
Many residents are of Australian, English, Indian, Filipino and Irish descent.
The most common professions are clerical staff, managers, professionals, and technicians.

Transport

The main form of public transport are buses. There are frequent services to Macquarie Park, Castle Hill and Blacktown.
Travelling by car is also popular, with many driving from place to place.

Commercial area

A newly constructed shopping centre is on the corner of Stanhope Parkway and Sentry Drive. It features a Coles supermarket, medical centre, and many other specialty stores.

Housing

Stanhope Gardens is mostly made up of separate houses, comprising about 95%. The remainder is made up of semi-detached dwellings.
