Making part of the St George area, Narwee is suburb of Sydney located 18 kilometres from the CBD.
The name of the suburb originated from an Aboriginal word that means the ‘sun’. Previously an area of mostly farmers and gardeners, Narwee grew rapidly during the second half of the 20th century and is now predominantly a residential suburb.

Demographics

Narwee has an estimated 4,956 residents which is classified as a small to medium sized suburb of Sydney. The median age is 39 years, 2 years above the average of Australia. The suburb is made up of people of Chinese, Australian, English, Greek and Irish descents. Many local residents work as professionals, clerical staff, technicians and managers.

Transport

Narwee train station is on the Airport, Inner West & South line of the Sydney Trains rail network. The suburb is conveniently surrounded by major roads including the M5, King Georges Road, Stoney Creek Road and Davies Road.

Commercial area

Hannans Road, Broadarrow Road and nearby streets are the main shopping precinct. There are a selection of shops providing a selection of commonly used goods and services. Roselands shopping centre is just to the north of Narwee, while Hurstville is a few kilometres south-east.
