General Information

Located within the Greater Western region of Sydney, situated approximately 40 kilometres south-west from CBD is the suburb of Horningsea Park.
The suburb was named after the birthplace in England of the British grazier Joshua Moore. Most of the area were farmland until the late 1990s, when it was developed into housing.

Demographics

Horningsea Park has a population of around 3,669. With a median age of 30 years, it is one of the younger suburbs in Sydney.
The most common ethnic backgrounds of local residents includes Australian, English, Italian, Indian and Filipino.
Many people in the workforce are employed as clerical staff, professionals, technicians, managers and retail workers.

Transport

The main form of public transport are buses, with regular services to Carnes Hill, West Hoxton and Liverpool.
Private transport is preferred by many residents and is their primary form of transport.

Commercial area

Carnes Hill Marketplace is on the corner of Kurrajong Road and Sarah Hollands Drive. There are two supermarkets: Woolworths and Aldi, BigW and many specialty stores within the centre.
The Trash and Treasure markets is popular with bargain hunters and is situated on the south-eastern boundary of the suburb.

Housing

Almost all residential dwellings in Horningsea Park are detached housing, with a small percentage of semi-detached dwellings.
