History of Claremont Meadows

The suburb of Claremont Meadows is part of the Greater Western Sydney region located an estimated 45 kilometres away from the heart of Sydney. Once occupied by the Darug people, the land was soon granted to Mary Bligh upon her wedding as a gift, and was named Coallee. The land was eventually sectioned and was retitled Claremont.

Demographics

Claremont Meadows is home to just over 4100 people. Many local residents in the suburb are of English, Irish and Australians descents.

Transport

Claremont Meadows is bordered by the Great Western Highway to the North and the M4 Western Motorway to the South. The nearest train station is located to the north at Werrington station. There are also numerous bus stops positioned throughout the suburb, serviced by the bus company, Westbus.

Commerce

Claremont meadows has a small shopping centre located along Myrtle Road and Sunflower Drive. It offers various amenities including an IGA supermarket. The suburb is also home to two pre-schools and a community club.

Housing

Claremont Meadows have a mixture of older and newer developments. The most common type of housing are separate houses, accounting for about 97%, with the remainder consisting of semi-detached housing.
